Pilates

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a movement method that is based on the original works of Joseph Pilates, whose philosophy was that exercise should integrate both mind and body. His techniques were a combination of physical and mental conditioning that educated the whole body and mind with the aim of improving fitness and sustaining well-being. Geared to both men and women, Pilates adapts the original moves to incorporate modern fitness research and rehabilitation techniques. Physiotherapists and fitness experts are constantly using recent research and knowledge about safe and effective exercise for the general population, to develop and update the Pilates method of movement.
